As mushrooms are one of the planet's main growing beings if you will? The rabbits are Protectors or the all-powerful Super Helping Friendly Book which although we don't realize it here on Earth is the only thing that has kept Evil from completely taking over. It's bigger than that millions of planets and dimensions of the multiverse would be plunged into darkness if The Super Helping Friendly Book were to fall into the wrong hands, and as it was for a while (we will use Earth time here for reference) in the late 19th-century/early 20th century the book did fall into the wrong hands for a time, During which Earth experienced many wars and the Federal reserve rose to power in the US and other powerful countries. We have to save that tale for another book and time though.
